For me music affects my adrenaline level and my amount of output. Music creates a mood, but the emotions are usually isolated from the work. It is an interesting line to walk, between temperamental design and emotionally infused design. I know sometimes I get fed up with babying people with my designs and I want to design scary things with spikes, sharp corners, etc. Don't write yourself off b/c your young, the by-products of aging cloud peoples opinions. Being "naked" takes a lot of courage and you have to remember to differentiate between your self and your work. It is totally the most exciting, and scary, way to design. Hope my rambling helps you a little bit!
