I want to see much more form development through sketch. Since you have nailed down the interaction and action, start with orthographic sketches and flush out form after form, figuring out how subtle changes can make it transition from ‘classic’ to ‘fun’, without being so literal.
Start changing views, considering possible material selections etc. then get perspective going. . .
all this before trying to make high resolution models!
low res models to get some feel are great and can be useful during this, but don’t waste your time knocking out a great sketch model of a ‘not’ design.
